If you work in HR in an international context – or someday hope to – this is the module for you. You will examine the context and complexities involved in international people management, assessing the drivers and benefits of employment in an international context.

You will cover the varied approaches to policy and practice and learn the key factors affecting international recruitment, as well as the challenges and cultural differences you will need to consider. Finally, you will evaluate how expats are used for international work and learn how to form appropriate policies for overseas repatriation.

You will evaluate the main theories and issues surrounding well-being at work and identify the stakeholders that are required to maintain well-being initiatives. Finally, you will have the chance to develop a plan for your workplace well-being programme.

➤ Leadership and Management Development

Effective leadership and management are essential in developing an innovative, diverse, and high-performing workplace culture. As such, developing leadership skills is key to organisational success. In this module, you will learn about the fundamental elements that drive the need for leadership and management within organisations. You will identify the roles leaders and managers perform in different contexts and assess the skills and competencies they require, learning how people professionals can support the development of leaders and managers. You will then go on to evaluate indicators of successful leadership programmes while assessing the impact that leadership and management development have on your organisation and its employees.

In this unit, you will learn about the impact of technological development and how digital collaboration can impact the design and delivery of L&D over time, including the risks and challenges that technology-based learning and development pose for organisations. You will compare systems for delivering online and in-person learning and discuss the implications of these methods, as well as create engaging digital learning content to meet specific purposes and learning needs. Finally, you will assess the main skills required to facilitate online learning and include a reference to your own personal development plan.
