1

Participants assume the role of a cybersecurity leadership team within a multinational organization experiencing increasing cyber threats, regulatory pressure, third-party risks, and governance challenges.

2

The simulation requires teams to establish governance structures, assess organizational risks, evaluate security controls, manage active security incidents, and align cybersecurity decisions with business objectives while balancing operational resilience and compliance requirements.

3

The simulation integrates enterprise security governance, security architecture evaluation, network security reviews, identity and access management assessments, incident response planning, remediation prioritization, stakeholder communication, and executive-level decision-making.

4

Participants apply cybersecurity leadership principles to develop strategic recommendations and enterprise-wide security improvement roadmaps that support resilience, governance maturity, and long-term organizational security effectiveness.

    Frequently asked questions

The CISSP eligibility requirements are set by ISC2 and apply to candidates in Qatar as well as candidates worldwide. To earn the certificate, a candidate currently needs at least five years of cumulative full-time professional experience across two or more of the 8 CISSP domains. A relevant bachelor's or master's degree, or an approved professional credential, may satisfy up to one year of the experience requirement.

Professionals who pass the examination without meeting the full experience requirement can become an Associate of ISC2 and have up to six years to gain the required experience.

According to the current ISC2 CISSP Exam Outline, the CISSP examination uses Computerised Adaptive Testing (CAT).
The CISSP exam pattern is as follows:

    • Exam duration: 3 hours
    • Number of questions/items: 100–150
    • Question format: Multiple-choice and advanced item types
    • Passing score: 700 out of 1,000
    • Number of CISSP domains: 8

Testing: Selected authorised Pearson VUE testing centres
The current CISSP examination is available in English, Chinese, German, Japanese and Spanish, subject to ISC2's availability rules.

The program develops a broad set of enterprise cybersecurity skills rather than focusing on a single tool or technology. These capabilities are reinforced through workshops, simulations, and case studies, helping professionals apply CISSP concepts in practical contexts.

Professionals develop capabilities in the following:

    • Cybersecurity governance
    • Enterprise risk assessment
    • Risk treatment and control evaluation
    • Security architecture assessment
    • Asset and data protection

For a mid-level professional, CISSP can support progression towards roles involving greater responsibility for enterprise security, architecture, risk, governance, and cybersecurity programs.

Depending on existing experience and organizational structure, relevant progression opportunities may include:

    • Cybersecurity Analyst → Senior Security Professional → Cybersecurity Manager
    • Security Engineer → Senior Security Engineer → Security Architect
    • GRC Professional → Cyber Risk/GRC Manager → Information Security Manager
    • SOC/Operations Lead → Security Operations Manager
    • IT Security Manager → Senior Information Security Leadership

Potential job titles include the following:

    • Information Security Manager
    • Cybersecurity Manager
    • Security Architect
    • Cyber Risk Manager
    • Security Consultant
    • GRC Manager
    • Security Operations Manager

The next certification should align with the specialisation you want to develop. ISC2 identifies ISSAP, ISSEP, and ISSMP as advanced certification pathways following CISSP. Professionals can also consider CCSP for cloud security or CGRC for deeper specialisation in governance, risk and compliance.

    A practical progression may include:

    • CISSP → ISSAP for security architecture
    • CISSP → ISSEP for security engineering
    • CISSP → ISSMP for advanced security management
    • CISSP → CCSP for professionals specialising in cloud security
    • CISSP → CGRC where governance, risk and compliance require deeper focus

The program covers all 8 CISSP domains. The domains are as follows:

    • Security and Risk Management – 16%
    • Asset Security – 10%
    • Security Architecture and Engineering – 13%
    • Communication and Network Security – 13%
    • Identity and Access Management – 13%
    • Security Assessment and Testing – 12%
    • Security Operations – 13%
    • Software Development Security – 10%

CISSP is relevant beyond cybersecurity engineering and can benefit GRC, IT audit, technology-risk and other security professionals. GRC or technology-risk professionals may already understand policies, frameworks, and compliance requirements but have less exposure to areas such as network architecture, IAM, software security, security operations, and incident response. Similarly, technically focused professionals can strengthen their understanding of governance, compliance, enterprise risk, and business continuity.

This cross-functional breadth is one reason CISSP can be particularly useful for professionals who must communicate between technical security teams, risk functions, and senior management.

Learners Point's CISSP program combines 40 hours of structured learning with practical cybersecurity exercises, case studies, simulations, AI-enabled analysis, and an enterprise governance and incident-response simulation.

Learners Point has operated since 2001 and has trained more than 500,000 professionals. Its learning approach also incorporates Training Needs Analysis and the proprietary Friction Method, which moves participants from context and concept development through practical application, challenging assumptions, trainer mentoring, and deliberate practice.
